Titanfall 3 is finally revealed.

It’s no secret that Titanfall 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I’ve been playing it off and on for 4 years, but I’ve been one of the game’s biggest cheerleaders as well. With the massive success, of Apex Legends paired with the critical reception and sales of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it might seem like any hope for a Titanfall threequel has been lost. But every few months in interviews, Respawn keeps the flame alive, with claims that they still have a passion for the series, despite their plans for a follow-up being pushed back by new opportunities.

But I can smell the scent of Ticks and Smart Pistols in the air right about now. After the release of Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond the day after The Game Awards, Respawn has no other announced projects on their plate. We all expect another Star Wars Jedi game eventually, and their separate team working on Apex is still going strong. But it’s only been a year since Jedi, and I doubt Medal of Honor will get too much live service support. That leaves a Titan-sized hole in their future roster of games.

Now, this is a Hail Mary of a theory, but it’s plausible! Considering that Apex was already a big part of The Game Awards with Apex Legends, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Respawn there again to reveal a more direct follow up to Titanfall 2. It just makes so much sense to me that I’ve actively hyped myself up for this show off of my belief that this could actually happen. I could be wrong, hell, I will probably be wrong. But man, that would make the hellscape of 2020 almost worth it.
