A few I can name off the top of my head are Bobby Darin&#8217;s &#8220;Beyond The Sea&#8221; for BioShock 1, &#8220;I Don&#8217;t Want To Set The World On Fire&#8221; by The Ink Spots for Fallout 3, and &#8220;Beast&#8221; by Nico Vega for BioShock Infinite. Nevertheless, for every gamer out in the world, there is a song used that they love. So it&#8217;s time to start rocking out with our favorite music used for video game trailers! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allan Muir &#8211; Admin\/EiC\/Spider-Man Nerd<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Spider-Man: Miles Morales<\/em> Launch Trailer &#8211; &#8220;This Is My Time&#8221; ( by Lecrae)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AOJWJHzyNkw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><figcaption><strong><em>Credit: Marvel<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Marvel&#8217;s Spider-Man: Miles Morales<\/em> is one hell of a game. Perhaps the biggest journey of that game was one of self-discovery. With Miles being the only thing protecting New York City, you can tell by watching the trailer that he is overwhelmed on many different fronts. The Underground, Roxxon, and more threaten his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> There is a point in the launch trailer where Genke more or less says that whenever Miles talks about Spider-Man he is talking about whatever Peter is going through. This shows the gamer the main theme of the game: Be Greater, Be Yourself. As the title of the song used in the trailer explains: It&#8217;s My Time. Namely, Miles&#8217; time to shine as the one and only Spider-Man in the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the game&#8217;s announcement people were comparing the situation to Uncharted: Lost Legacy considering the time after the release of the related games. However, with the upcoming release of Ghost of Ikishima which is apparently going to be a similar experience to Miles Morales in terms of size and time to completion. (Read the <a href=\"https:\/\/vgu.tv\/2020\/11\/27\/marvels-spider-man-miles-morales-review-playstation-5\/\">review<\/a>, and check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/vgu.tv\/2020\/12\/21\/the-players-club-podcast-the-spider-man-miles-morales-spoilercast\/\">spoilercast<\/a>!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>Josh Miller &#8211; The Family Man<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Borderlands<\/em> &#8211; &#8220;Ain&#8217;t No Rest for the Wicked&#8221; (by Cage the Elephant)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v3ZWbpce_Os?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The original <em>Borderlands<\/em> will forever be synonymous with Cage the Elephant&#8217;s &#8220;Ain&#8217;t No Rest for the Wicked&#8221;. After a lackluster response to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/BlZv9fEY_co\" target=\"_blank\">original trailer<\/a> for <em>Borderlands<\/em>, Gearbox went back and shook things up. Not only did they change the look of the game, but they made one of the most memorable trailers for one. That is largely in part to the musical choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people, myself included, suddenly discovered this new band. While I couldn&#8217;t connect with the rest of their discography, that song is still one I love to hear from time to time. One that resonated so much with people that they still loved seeing it when it played during the intro scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s clear that Gearbox tried to replicate that magic in the trailers for <em>Borderlands 2<\/em> and <em>Borderlands 3<\/em>, but those didn&#8217;t quite hit the same. There is no denying the impact the song left on that trailer, and that&#8217;s why it&#8217;s one of my favorites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>Graydon Webb &#8211; The Contrarian American<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Battleborn<\/em> &#8211; &#8220;Fitzpleasure&#8221; (by alt-J)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QaeZ9dbhYVA?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><figcaption><em><strong>Credit: GameSpot<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I actually thought of doing this revisited roundtable shortly after the last of its kind. There\u2019s always been this other song in the back of my mind that consistently makes me think of a video game trailer. While yes, I could do a <i>second<\/i> pick about Pigeon John\u2019s \u201cThe Bomb\u201d in <em>Dead Island 2<\/em>\u2019s reveal trailer (because that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jTnoSqGKbbE&amp;ab_channel=GameInformer\"><em>so<\/em> iconic<\/a>). But I think you\u2019ll be shocked to find which game made me rethink this whole thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015, a little game called <em>Battleborn <\/em>was announced. It was released the following year to \u201cokay\u201d ratings from most critics, but across the sea of players, it was a fairly large letdown. The problem with Battleborn was its hero shooter-Esque paint job while actually being a first-person MOBA under the covers. Most players came from Overwatch to try it and unfortunately found a League of Legends type game instead. This genre discrepancy ultimately caused the game\u2019s declining player base and subsequent shut down five years later. <em>Battleborn <\/em>is now rendered unplayable, but what lives on is the incredible trailer from E3 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was this trailer that introduced me to alt-J, one of the most unique sounds I\u2019ve ever heard in music. The song \u201cFitzpleasure\u201d is used to display <em>Battleborn<\/em>\u2019s colorful characters, and alt-J\u2019s trippy vocals and nonsensical lyrics perfectly showcase the game\u2019s unusual style. I instantly fell in love with this song and alongside tunes like \u201cThe Bomb\u201d and Mike Oldfield\u2019s \u201cNuclear\u201d from the <em>Metal Gear Solid V <\/em>trailer, these tunes made for an incredible time period of video game trailer music. Perhaps I should\u2019ve just called this selection \u201cE3 2014-2015,\u201d as a lot of that music was insane. What a time to be alive! But yes, \u201cFitzpleasure\u201d lives on in my heart &#8211; and my Spotify playlist &#8211; and it\u2019s all thanks to Gearbox\u2019s failed experiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>What is your favorite piece of video game trailer music?
