We are nearing the end of January and with that there are a lot of upcoming pieces of entertainment be it video games, television shows, movies, etc. Josh<\/a> and Graydon<\/a> have already discussed what they are excited for so here are mine! On with the list…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The older I get the more I find myself getting really into the Warhammer universe. While I am not at the point where I am going to get into model painting, I can at least get into the various video games set in the universe. That said, I still know very little compared to people who are more knowledgeable on the subject. With what I do know, having the main enemies of the game be the Tyranids is perfect both when compared with the first Space Marine title and<\/strong> the fact that Saber Interactive is developing the game. My only concern (which is not much of a concern) is that there will be a feeling of having a lesser experience with Mark Strong not reprising his role as Titus. But with most things, only time will tell\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bad Batch: Season Three<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With the spinoff of Star Wars: The Clone Wars<\/em> set to end this year I am kind of disappointed in what we have gotten from the series in its two seasons so far. While yes, we now have a definitive answer as to why Clone troopers no longer serve in the Empire it feels like that was the only reason for the shows existence to begin with. I was personally interested in the narrative of the clone rebellion and seeing where that story went but we had things in Season 2 such as the racing episode that was a complete waste of time. I am curious as to how The Bad Batch<\/em> will get wrapped up and whether or not things like the nonchalant disappearance of Commander Cody and the vagueness surrounding Tech\u2019s fate will get a proper ending or will be left dangling for another show to make things right\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Star Wars: Dark Forces Remastered<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Set to release next month is one of the best Star Wars games ever made. Originally released in 1995, Star Wars: Dark Forces<\/em> introduced Kyle Katarn to the Star Wars fandom. The game was the Star Wars equivalent of id software\u2019s first-person shooter title; Doom<\/em>. This remaster is being developed by Nightdive Studios who have remastered legendary titles in the Quake franchise and Turok series and I believe the quality of Nightdive\u2019s work can speak for themselves in regards to what they can bring to Dark Forces. This is a win-win for everyone as the game is difficult to play for newcomers to the series and will give the game a much-needed update into the 21st<\/sup> century. Now hopefully this remaster can justify remastering the rest of the Dark Forces series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario vs Donkey Kong<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I am going to be very upfront with this: I never played a Mario vs Donkey Kong<\/em> game before. I was too young when the games first came out on the Game Boy Advance and I missed out on the series. Now that another game is releasing on the Switch this could be my chance to get in on the games. From what I\u2019ve seen the game looks very intriguing and as I\u2019ve mentioned on various Players Club episodes; I am terrible at puzzle games but am always looking for the best entry point. Hopefully I gel with Mario vs Donkey Kong<\/em> next month and have myself a good time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctor Who: Series 1<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If you know anything about me, you know I love me some Doctor Who. With the seeds planted in the 60th<\/sup> Anniversary specials by Beep the Meep (her boss), and the Toymaker (the one who waits) the 15th<\/sup> Doctor will have his hands full. There is a fan theory, and by fan theory I mean talks I have had with Javon; that the 14th<\/sup> Doctor will end up going the route of the Valeyard. There is a very clear tone\/vibe that the 14th<\/sup> Doctor has and it is that of a man who is always moving forward not wanting to look back. While I doubt Tennant will play the Valeyard I have a feeling the 14th<\/sup> Doctor will once again regenerate into the inverse of what Ncuti Gatwa\u2019s incarnation of the Doctor is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still Wakes the Deep<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

From the developer of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs<\/em>, Dear Esther<\/em>, and Everybody\u2019s Gone to the Rapture<\/em> among others, The Chinese Room\u2019s next game titled Still Wakes the Deep<\/em> should be an uncomfortable adventure for me. Set upon an oil rig off the coat of 1975 Scotland during a disastrous storm during which something sinister seems to be on board with you and the rest of your crew you must hope to survive and save them and try to make it home. While I am all for this game, my PTSD from stuff like this may be a little too much for me to handle. Hopefully I can get through this game as I really want to experience this story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
