Josh Miller – The Family Man
Re-Tool the Galactic Readiness System

Let me start by saying – I want the galactic readiness to return. I think it’s a cool factor that can play into the final moments of Mass Effect 3. However, the way it worked originally kind of sucked relying on players to play not only the multiplayer (which some don’t like) PLUS downloading several apps to play. Yeah, remember Mass Effect: Infiltrator and Mass Effect 3: Datapad?! Obviously, one big problem going into the remaster is these additional apps – they aren’t on the app stores any longer. Sure, they could be put back on but…don’t.
Instead, re-tool the galactic readiness factor of the game. Find ways to boost that meter behind the scenes that involve decisions and actions made throughout ALL three games. Also, make the galactic readiness actually matter in the end. Yes, it is another factor to determine how severe the consequences are in the end. However, the differences are negligible if you put in any effort, and even that may not matter depending on the final choice of the game by Shepard.

The whole Galaxy at War concept is such an awesome idea. The culmination of three games leading to this final battle should have huge stakes. A system to actually influence the stakes that can be improved upon throughout the series is rad. However, it felt half-baked in the original Mass Effect 3, feeling like it was put in just to download a few other apps. Now is the time to fix it and make it a fully fleshed out thing. Add in new and better ways to influence it that happens in the game and not outside of it. Expand on the ending to fully utilize the system instead of having the outcome as black/white as the paragon/renegade choices. There is so much to play within this system, and I hope we see a better one with the remaster.
