As this MultiVersus of Madness continues, let’s take a moment to reflect on the roster currently available. Not necessarily about how they play, but more about their appearance. In this break from the battles, we wanted to take a moment to choose some alternative skins. So below are a few picks from the staff here at VGU. As of the time of this writing, these skins have not appeared in the game. Buff Shaggy (Scooby-Doo) – there’s a lot from those live-action Scooby-Doo movies I’ve tried to rinse from my brain. There’s a lot I haven’t though. For instance – when Matthew Lillard gets buff. It looks absolutely ridiculous, but you know what…kinda want to see it in action for Multiversus. The Loonatics (Loonatics Unleashed) – Properly forgotten by the masses, Loonatics Unleashed came out in 2005 and only lasted 26 episodes before being canned. Not going to lie though…I have a soft spot in my heart for those designs. With Bugs and Taz already in the game, and Daffy to be rumored, this is a great skin that could be applied across multiple characters. Adam West Batman (Batman) – Is there really an explanation needed for this? Adam West, even after all these years, is arguably in the top 3 of best live-action (and voiced) Batmen of all time. This version suits the goofiness of the game as it is, and it is such a distinctive look from any other potential Batman skin, that not having it would be a crime. Wonder Woman with Bomber Jacket and Pants (Wonder Woman #600) – I don’t care what anyone says. I like this costume. I don’t have the disgust for Wonder Woman with pants as some people seem to. So having this version of her is one I would like to see. I think it looks slick and is a huge change from her normal Wonder Woman outfit. Muscles Mouse and Red Shirt Tom (Tom and Jerry) – It’s easy to pick out something for these two characters. They’ve been around a long time, and have had a ton of movies, and many cartoons. It’s the muscles mouse look that I specifically love, so the pick is mainly for that. However, the episode also has Tom with a red sweater on, so at least it’s not just Jerry getting a different look. Frankencreepy Velma (Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy) – Unlike Shaggy, Velma hasn’t had a ton of reasons to dress up to escape from the villains. In the movie Frankencreepy, she undergoes quite a visual change. Doing her best Bride of Frankenstein cosplay may be the most drastic change Velma has done to her wardrobe. Justice Lords Superman (Justice League/Justice League Unlimited) – There have been many versions of “evil Superman”, but this is the one that holds a special place in my heart. Not only because I liked this future version of the character, but the costume is so darn cool. The white, red, and black work so well with the costume, and the slight tweaks to the design make it great too. Valkyrie Bugs (Merrie Melodies) – Arguably one of the most recognizable outfits Bugs has donned. This is to be expected since it’s also from one of the best cartoons he was in too. Great skin that also feels right in line with the drag Bugs was always into. Masquerade Finn and Jake (Adventure Time) – While there are definitely versions of these characters that would be more recognizable than this, I want this for one reason. They give me mad Tuxedo Mask vibes. And more Sailor Moon is never a bad thing. But mixed with Adventure Time? It’s a great thing. Bombshell Harley Quinn (DC Bombshells) – Seven years ago, DC Comics did a series where female superheroes guarded the homefront in WWII. Those characters received some nice vintage designs. I really liked Harley’s (and Wonder Woman’s too), so let me see them in MultiVersus. And if more DC women get in, give them theirs too! Biker Taz (Harley Davidson?) – Growing up, it wasn’t unusual to see Taz decked out in biker gear and riding a motorcycle. For a while there, he was plastered on shirts found in Wal-Mart all across the country. So why not take it one step further and have this leather jacket-clad skin show up in the game? Cotton Candy Garnet (Steven Universe) – I’m not super familiar with Steven Universe. However, I did see this version of Garnet once and preferred it to the one we have in MultiVersus. Maybe it’s because of the colors, but regardless, it’s the version of her I like best. Those are some of my choices for alternate skins in the game.
