Fine Tune the Issues to Catch My Interest
Here’s a surprise: I really don’t know much about Mass Effect! In fact, I’ve only played the first game, so my proposed changes may have already been changed later in the series. But alas, I am a roundtable veteran, and when I am asked to assist, I rise to the challenge! Like… oh, what’s his name again? Commander Goatherd?

Anyway, I recall my biggest issue with the first Mass Effect being the damn Mako. That ship controls like a whale out of water. Scratch that, the Mako moves like Mario when he’s on ice. You know what I mean, that horrible control scheme where it feels like you’ll never get to where you want to be? I still have nightmares of trying to maneuver that ship through small areas and over rugged rock formations. Nothing hurt worse than trying to rocket jump your beast of a bus over anything, only to land in the exact same spot. God, I hate the Mako. I’d love to see that system improve, but as our very own Raul Contreras said in response to my initial claim: “Bro how do you improve upon perfection?”
While I’m here, I suppose I’ll also mention how the weapons felt a bit messy in the first Mass Effect. This is an issue that I assume gets fixed with time, as I know Mass Effect 2 is more of an action game with some well-acclaimed weapon mechanics. However, through my own experience, I recall having a crummy time with the first game’s firefights. Guns felt clunky and weird, and no shot felt particularly satisfying. Overall, I bet this stuff is what kept me from ever really continuing with the Mass Effect franchise. I really hope I can jump into this remastered collection and fall in love like everyone else. I want to like you, BioWare. Please don’t let me down.
