Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney At Law

Shamelessly inspired by the early 2000’s show, Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law; this game would do the same thing…but with video game characters. Since we already have a popular video game lawyer, it’s time to bring him in to solve the many crimes and lawsuits that go on throughout the video game universe. It’ll stick with the classic visual novel + point-and-click mechanics for clue finding, and I think in general it will be obsurd fun that people would love.
Think about some of the stuff that could be featured in this game. Restraining order on Bowser from Princess Peach? Assault from Commander Shepard to that reporter lady? Leisure Suit Larry has to go to court for harassment? A divorce case with Spencer from Bionic Commando and his wife who happens to be his arm? Murder trial for Naughty Bear? There are plenty of avenues to pursue in a game like this and the story potentials feel endless.
Another great thing about this would be investigating those worlds of the characters. Easter eggs, callbacks, and nostalgia galore with this element of gameplay. Plus, depending on how Phoenix Wright is written, that can lead to some great conversations with these other video game worlds. It could almost feel Roger Rabbit-esque if they treat Phoenix Wright like an Eddie Valiant type character.
This could be the Super Smash Bros for visual novel video games. Sure, there may be some pushback from publishers depending on how characters are written, but how stupid would that be. If this would ever come to pass, I don’t think you would hear any OBJECTION.
